The Studio

Waypoint Construction works in the hills north of Birmingham and along the ridges overlooking Logan Martin Lake.

We accept a small number of commissions each year. The work is rooted in the materials and light of Central Alabama — Alabama limestone, live oak, longleaf pine — and shaped by the demands of a humid subtropical climate: deep eaves, screened porches, courtyards that encourage cross ventilation, durable stone that will patinate gracefully.

We partner closely with the architects chosen by our clients. Our role is to translate drawings into buildings of lasting material integrity, with the kind of quiet craft that only reveals itself over decades.

The studio is intentionally small. We believe the quality of a house is directly related to the number of decisions that are made with care, by people who will live with the consequences of those decisions.
