A 1970s brick traditional on a sloping lot above Shoal Creek, reproportioned and reclad in cream limestone with a new centered portico and dormered roofline.
The original house had good bones and a strong relationship to the creek, but the proportions and materials had not aged well. We added a modest portico, raised the roof with new dormers, and replaced the entire brick envelope with Alabama limestone. The interiors were opened to the view and finished in lime plaster and rift-sawn oak. The landscape was replanted from foundation to canopy with native species and a new boxwood parterre on the upper terrace.
